    The Sky Above: Before I say goodbye to 2012, I observed the last full moon of the year on Dec. 29, 2012. The full moon was also inside the Winter Hexagon, an asterism which consists of the brightest stars of the winter constellations (Canis Major, Canis Minor, Orion, Auriga, and Gemini). Moonset Full moon inside the Winter Hexagon Before I say goodbye to 2012, I observed the last full moon of the year on Dec. 29, 2012.
